   Colors:
  • Gray is not shared, Editable
  • Blue is currently shared, Read-only
  • Green is currently shared, Editable
   Buttons
  • [ Prev Page ] will open the previous page in the file.
  • [ New Page ] creates a page at the end of the file.
  • [ Delete Page ] deletes current page.
  • [ Duplicate Page ]  creates a copy of the current page and puts it at the end. 
  • [ Live Share ] will share this file/page with the accounts listed in the Register Page.
    • The Register Page setup is shown here.​
  • [ Next Page ] will open the next page in the file.
  • [ Edit Request ] will set this account as the current editor. It doesn't fail. ​
  • Only one account is allowed to edit a file at a time. ​
   Buttons
  • [ Hand ] turns orange to signal the teacher/tutor that help is needed.
    • Teachers can monitor the entire class, in-person and remote, and assist where needed. ​
    • Provides a private method for students to ask questions they may not wish to ask publicly.
    • Provides for students to work at different speeds and still get timely help when needed.

LiveShare feature with teacher sharing
  • Live Share can also be used for teaching.
  • This video shows one teacher and 3 students but other options are available. 
    • The number of students can be very large​.
    • The Students can be located in classroom or remote, or both. 
    • The in classroom could also directed onto a large screen for the whole class. 
  • Other benefits of this method
    • The solution can include much more detailed annotations for explanation than is typically done on a whiteboard. 
    • The solution can be included with the homework files, so students have instant access to the class lecture. 
  • This example shows the Share contact's list includes the students with which we're sharing.
  • It shows the shared file automatically shows up when shared. 
  • This example does NOT use 3rd party sharing apps like Zoom or GoToMeeting.

Opening the Context Menu
  • The Context Menu opens with selected terms which can then be modified, colorized and pasted.​
  • For these opening methods, the cursor/pointer must be over the desired terms. Or the terms already selected.
    • Right-Click.​
    • Ctrl-M  (Cmd-M) for devices with a keyboard. 
    • [ Menu Button ] (top-right) of button bar.
    • Virtual Mouse (for touch devices)​
  • 4 types of Context Menus​
    • Equation Menu for rows/sides​.
    • Selection Menu is the same with one field.
    • Comment Menu.
    • Drawing Menu for adding shapes.

​Row 1:
  • [ Plus ]  insert a Plus sign on left side of Selection.
  • [ Minus ] insert a Minus sign on left side of Selection.
  • [ (...) ]     wrap Selection in Parenthesis.
  • [ 1/X ]    create a fraction with one over the Selection.
  • [ X/Y ]   create an Identity Fraction from the 2 sides of the Selection.  Subsequent click flips the fraction.
  • [ Sqrt ]  wrap Selection inside Square-root symbol.
  • [ Sq ]      raise the Selection to the power of 2.
  • [ Plus ]   insert a Plus sign to right side of Selection.
Row 2:​
  • [ [...] ]       wrap Selection in Square Brackets.
  • [ {...} ]      wrap Selection in Braces.
  • [ Plus/Minus ]  Insert the plus/minus symbol on left side of Selection.
  • [ X/[] ] create a fraction with Selection over an Empty Box. Subsequent click will flip the fraction to put Empty Box in numerator.
  • [ (-[]) ]    Negate and wrap Selection in Parenthesis.
  • [ Copy note/color ] Include the Row Note and any color in the Selection.

Font Color Options and Row insertion
These are simple modifiers
and Row insertion.
Color selection:
  • [ Green ] The Math App typically uses Green to mark the answer. Simple Right-click and clicking this button marks the selection to Answer. 
  • [ Highlight ] Highlights selection yellow.
  • [ Font Red ]         Changes font color to Red.
  • [ Font Green ]    Changes font color to Green.
  • [ Font Orange ] Changes font color to Orange.
  • [ Font Blue ]       Changes font color to Blue.
  • [ Font Default ] Changes font color to Black.

Row insertion types:
  • [ Cmt Above ]  Insert a comment row above Selection.  (closes the menu)
  • [ Cmt Below ]  Insert a comment row below Selection.   (closes the menu)
  • [ Eq Above ]     Insert an equation row above Selection. (closes the menu)
  • [ Eq Below ]      Insert an equation row below Selection. (closes the menu)
  • [ Drawing ]        Insert a drawing row below Selection.     (closes the menu)
  • [ Insert into Cmt ] Removes the row label and notes and formats for a comment.
  • [ Del Row(s) ]   Delete the Selected row.                                (closes the menu)
  • [ Esc  - Close ] Close this menu. [Escape key] also works.

Alternate Paste Options with Calculator
Calculator options row:
  • Calculate the result if terms are Numeric.
  • [10^x] will change the result to exponential mode.
  • [.00]  will increase or decrease the significant figures. 
     
Alternate Paste behaviors:
  • [ Locate Cursor ] enables the use of arrow keys to position the cursor for the insertion.
    • Touch Devices: Arrow keys are on the left side bar help for placement as location with finger touch is difficult.​
  • [ ->2x ]         will change the Selection's in place.
  • [ ->2x-del ]  will change the Selection's in place and read-line the selection.

  • [ Swap Sides ] Swap the sides of an equation row. Note that > or < are NOT considered during this swap. (closes the menu)
  • [ Do It (Enter) ] With [ Locate Cursor ] set, clicking here or <Enter> will paste at the cursor. (closes the menu).

    Calculator options row:
  • [ Group ] the selected rows into a section that can be collapsed/expanded. 
  • [ Hide/Show ]  all Note Shapes
  • [ Note Shapes ]  Insert a Note Shape from dropdown menu.
  • [ Delete ] Note Shapes.
  • [ Clear ]  Row colors. 
  • [ Row color ]  Opens row color menu. 
  • [ Cell color ]  Opens cell color menu. 
  • [ Font color ]  Opens font color menu .

Touch device cursor control: 
  • [ Mouse ] opens a virtual mouse for pixel accurate placement, using finger (or mouse) control.
  • Shift-Arrow is the most common method for selection.  [ Shift-Lock ] and [ Arrows ]  (with home/end) on the editor's left sidebar provide accurate and simple selection on Touch devices.

Editor Header: 
  • [ Esc... ] buttons provide the expected function as the short-cuts normally used on physical keyboard.
  • [ Deg/Rad ] button sets Degrees or Radians for trigonometry calculations.

  • [ Paste ] same as [ Ctrl-V ] 
  • [ Zoom ] in or out, same as
    [ Ctrl+- ]
  • [ Menu ] opens the Context Menu, same as Right-Click.

Selection methods on Touch Devices
  • Selection is done using several methods that are common to standard editors. 
  • The Math App has several ways to make this easier. These also open the Context Menu:
    • Right-Click a cell selects the side.
    • Right-Click the Equal's cell selects the row.
    • Right-Click a comment selects the comment.
  • Shift-Arrow is the most common method:
    • [ Shift-Lock ] and [ Arrows ] on the editor's left sidebar provide it's use on Touch devices.
  • Cursor Drag-Select works but can be difficult with small terms especially on touch devices.
    • A virtual [ Mouse ] helps with cursor placement to provide pixel accurate placement.

Duplicate Row: Distributive property
  • The Distributive Property is shown using the Context Menu and canceling terms with red-lines. 
  • The Duplicate Row feature, also shown, uses Ctrl_D to copy the equation and removing the red-lined terms.

  • The units are red-lined using Shift-Arrow-Delete and Ctrl-D to copy the equation/row and removes the red-lined terms.
  • The Integrated Calculator feature is demonstrated here by selecting the numerical terms and Ctrl-R to calculate the terms, red-line the selected terms and insert the Result.

Generate and paste Intelligent Notes

  • Mathematics often requires use of existing terms to modify an equation. Right-Click selection works for editing but knowing where terms are from is critical for learning.​​

Group rows in to collapsible Sections
  • The Row-Note comment fields on rows B2 and B3 are hidden and the arrows that terminate in those notes are hidden when the [>] button is clicked. 
 
  • The Group-Hide feature demonstrated here hides rows that have been grouped using the Section Group feature.
    The [ Label B- ] is clicked to hide the B-Section.

Use [ X/Y ] to create and use identity fraction
  • Right-Click Select is used on the equality cell to select the whole row.
  • The [X/Y] and [( )] buttons used to create an identity term that is pasted into the equation and used to convert miles to feet and then from feet to meters. 
  • Shift-Arrow-Delete will then be used to red-line the canceled units and Ctrl-D to drop them.

Specialty Keyboards
  • Specialty Soft Keyboards, like the Chemistry Keyboard used here, ensures accuracy by inserting complex values directly from the periodic table.

Create and Label drawings with copy/paste
  • Right-Click Select and Touch Paste are used to label the sides of a right triangle directly from equations in the problem statement, after it is inserted using the Drawing Menu and clicking the [ Rt-triangle ] shape button. 
  • Right-Click Select and Touch Paste are also used to copy the Pythagorean theorem equation and square-root both sides at the same time with a simple click of the [sq-root] button.

Drawings with Graphics Calculator
  • Right-Click a drawing to open the Drawing Context Menu. 
  • Select the desired shape and touch the drawing to place the shape.
  • Resize the shape using the top-left Cursor which resizes around the center point. 
  • Relocate the shape using the center cursor.
